JobTrack is a job application tracker, an independent service operated from England, United Kingdom. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at hello@jobtracks.co.uk.
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service. Here is exactly what we store:
| Data | Where it comes from | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | You, when you create an account | To identify your account and send auth emails |
| Password (hashed) | You, when you sign up | To secure your account. We never see your plain-text password. |
| Google account email address | Google, if you choose "Sign in with Google" | Your email address, used for authentication only |
| Job application data | You, when you add applications | Company, role, dates, status, notes. The core of the app. |
| Session data | Automatically, when you sign in | To keep you logged in between visits |
| Product analytics events | Automatically, when you use the app | Anonymous data about which features are used, collected via PostHog. No personal data is included. |
| Statement Builder inputs | You, when you use the Statement Builder feature | Your job details and written answers, sent to an AI model to generate your supporting statement. Only collected when you actively use this feature. |
We do not collect IP addresses for tracking purposes, device fingerprints, or any data beyond what is listed above.
If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address from Google solely to create and identify your JobTrack account. We use this data only to provide you with the service. We do not:
We do not store or retain Google user data beyond what is required for authentication and account creation.
Our use of data received from Google Sign-In complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We process your data because it is necessary to provide the JobTrack service you signed up for. Without your email address we cannot create an account, and without your job application data the tracker cannot function.
Under UK GDPR, this is known as contractual necessity: the processing is required to deliver the service you requested.
We share data only with the services required to run JobTrack. These are our data processors:
| Service | Purpose | Where data is stored |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and authentication | EU (AWS eu-west-2) |
| Sign in with Google (optional) | Google infrastructure | |
| Resend | Sending auth emails (magic links, password resets) | EU |
| Cloudflare | Hosting the website | Global CDN, no personal data stored |
| PostHog | Product analytics: understanding which features are used and how the app performs | EU (eu.i.posthog.com). No personal identifiers are included in analytics events. |
| Anthropic | AI processing for the Statement Builder feature. Inputs and outputs are retained for up to 30 days, then deleted. Anthropic cannot use your data to train AI models under their commercial terms. | USA. Processed under Anthropic's Data Processing Addendum, incorporated into their Commercial Terms of Service. |
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party beyond the processors listed above.
JobTrack uses a single session cookie set by Supabase to keep you logged in. This is a functional cookie. Without it, the app cannot remember who you are between page loads. It is not used for tracking or advertising.
We also use PostHog, an EU-hosted product analytics service, which may set a cookie to distinguish unique sessions. PostHog collects anonymous usage data (such as which features are used) to help us understand and improve the app. It does not collect your name, email address, or job application data.
If you use Guest mode, your data is stored in your browser's local storage only. No account data is sent to our servers.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising cookies.
JobTrack does not display advertisements, use personal data for advertising, or track users across websites. We use PostHog for anonymous product analytics only: to understand which features are used and how the app performs. We do not use advertising networks or tracking pixels. Your job search data is never used for any commercial purpose beyond providing the JobTrack service to you.
JobTrack includes a Statement Builder feature that uses artificial intelligence to help you write supporting statements and cover letters. This feature is entirely optional. If you choose to use it, the following applies.
When you use the Statement Builder, the job details and written answers you provide are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Anthropic generates your statement text and returns it to you within the app. This processing happens only when you actively submit your inputs within the Statement Builder.
Anthropic processes this data as a data processor on our behalf, under their Data Processing Addendum (incorporated into Anthropic's Commercial Terms of Service). Key protections that apply:
Statement Builder outputs are AI-generated. You should review any generated text carefully before submitting it to an employer. JobTrack makes no warranty about the accuracy or suitability of AI-generated content.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Specifically:
We do not retain data after account deletion. Deletion is immediate and permanent. You can delete your account at any time from within the app, which permanently removes all associated personal data.
As a UK resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@jobtracks.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data. JobTrack is registered with the ICO under registration reference ZC116303.
JobTrack is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@jobtracks.co.uk and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are significant, we may notify you by email. Continued use of JobTrack after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
